This week, we learned how Christmas is celebrated in different countries in Europe as well as Japan. We learned about Chanukah, playing dreidel games, making candles, and listening/dancing to traditional festive music. We learned about Kwanzaa, a holiday that means "first fruits of the harvest," and Diwali, a celebration of lights. Guest speakers from our classroom included Paige's grandmother (Christmas in Europe), Jacob's grandmother (Chanukah), and Elizabeth's mom (Christmas in Japan). We had a great time this week leading up to our break. I hope your child will share some of the things he/she learned. Enjoy your time with your children and whatever you celebrate, may it be a happy time filled with family, friends, and many blessings! See you in the new year! :)

Welcome! My name is Elizabeth McKenna, and this is my eighth year teaching kindergarten. I am thrilled to be a part of our eLc program and our FLE family! Beth Busbee is our outstanding teaching assistant who happens to be a lifelong educator herself. Thank you for allowing us to teach and learn with your child every day. We can't wait to get started!
