We are learning just how many words we already know how to read! Today, we tried reading words like YouTube, Subway, Target, Chick-fil-A, and Walmart. We could even read some book titles by looking at the front covers. Then, we brainstormed all the words and symbols that we can read on our own! We know that readers look, think, read, and learn.
Hello!
Yesterday, you received a note about an All About Me bag. My apologies for forgetting a bag with that letter. You will see a gallon sized Ziploc in the folder today that you may put the items in! :) Additionally, here is a link to the math letter that was attached in the e-mail in case you had trouble opening the attachment! ![]() I am so excited to welcome you and your child to kindergarten! I will look forward to seeing all of you at "Meet the Teacher" on Wednesday evening. Hope you can make it! Thank you in advance for entrusting me with your precious child during such a formative year. I LOVE teaching kindergarten, and I am thrilled to partner with you as your child embarks on the journey. See you soon! Parents,
Please see the link for information about ordering our schools end-of-the-year publication, Eagle Expressions. Today, we went to the media center to research the following ocean animals: dolphins, jellyfish, great white sharks, and sea stars. Ask your child what interesting findings we discovered about each creature!
We have been doing weekly plant observations and recording our findings in our journals! We have noticed a lot of changes with our plants each time we have visited.

Welcome! My name is Elizabeth McKenna, and this is my eighth year teaching kindergarten. I am thrilled to be a part of our eLc program and our FLE family! Beth Busbee is our outstanding teaching assistant who happens to be a lifelong educator herself. Thank you for allowing us to teach and learn with your child every day. We can't wait to get started!
