Wells's grandfather, Mr. Briggs, came to read some Dr. Seuss stories to us on Friday. He read a tongue twister entitled Oh Say, Can You Say? and then he read And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street. It was such a delight welcoming him! We also had a little photo fun using some Dr. Seuss props later in the day.

Here is a glimpse of what you might see in our classroom during reading workshop! We are working hard and learning more about reading and writing all the time.
Thank you to Mrs. Peebles and Mrs. Scullion for assisting us with some awesome Arctic research today! We learned a lot about Arctic foxes, polar bears, snowshoe hares, and caribous! This week in PLTW, we studied our skeletal system. We focused specifically on our hands, learning that each finger has three bones while our thumb has only two. We invited guest speaker, Mrs. Wadhwa, to explain the celebration of Diwali! We know that it is a festival of lights. People light diyas (oil lamps) and shoot fireworks. People also clean their homes and put up decorations. One special decoration goes on the floor of the home, and it is known as a rangoli. |
Welcome! My name is Elizabeth McKenna, and this is my eighth year teaching kindergarten. I am thrilled to be a part of our eLc program and our FLE family! Beth Busbee is our outstanding teaching assistant who happens to be a lifelong educator herself. Thank you for allowing us to teach and learn with your child every day. We can't wait to get started!
